Glass reagent bottle cleaning safety precautions
The lotion is highly corrosive, so special attention should be paid to the preparation and use in a fume hood, and protective glasses and gloves should be worn.
Procedure
1. In the analysis work, cleaning the instrument is a preparatory work that needs to be done before the experiment, and it is also a technical work. Whether the instrument washing meets the requirements will affect the accuracy and accuracy of the laboratory work.
2. General steps for washing the instrument
2.1. For new glassware, first soak it in water or wash it with a brush and detergent. After drying, soak it in lotion for several hours and wash it.
2.2. After the lab technician finishes the experiment, pour out the remaining solution in the glassware used, wash it with water, and put it on the mobile cart marked with the words "glassware to be cleaned". Note that if the main component is water-insoluble Substances or substances that are insoluble in water, the used glass instruments should be placed on the lower layer of the above mobile car, and the lower layer of the mobile car should be marked with the words "cleaning with lotion".
2.3. The laboratory assistant will clean the "glass instruments to be cleaned" on the mobile cart at any time.
2.4. Bottle washer cleaning First, put the glassware cleaned with water into the bottle washer, and then adjust the required washing time and drying time. After cleaning, take it out and let it cool, and then put it in the storage room after drying.
2.5. When the glassware is cleaned and the bottle washer is out of use, disconnect the purified water inlet from the bottle washer, and use 75% alcohol to sterilize the connecting pipeline every month.
2.6. When the cleaned instrument is turned upside down, there should be no water droplets on the inner wall of the container after the water flows out.
3. Use of washing liquid
Preparation method of chromic acid lotion: dissolve 20g of finely ground potassium dichromate in 40ml of water, and slowly add 360ml of concentrated sulfuric acid while stirring.
According to the nature of the contamination of the instrument, for the instrument that cannot be effectively cleaned with detergent, it is generally soaked in chromic acid lotion overnight.
4. Drying and storage of glassware
4.1. After cleaning the glassware, place it upside down on a glassware rack to dry or place it in an oven to dry. Note: Volume appliances cannot be dried.
4.2. For instruments with ground stoppers, such as volumetric flasks, colorimetric tubes, etc., it is better to fasten the stopper and tube with a string before cleaning, so as not to break the stopper or confuse each other.
4.3. The complete set of instruments should be washed and dried immediately after use.
